About Wayne George
I've spent much of my professional life working with people, helping them navigate challenges, discover their strengths and grow in confidence.
My background spans counselling, clinical supervision, education and pastoral leadership. I hold a Master of Counselling and have worked as a lecturer, educator and supervisor, supporting both emerging and experienced practitioners in their professional development.
One thing I've come to appreciate is that there's often a significant gap between learning how to counsel and actually sitting with someone who needs your help.
It's in that gap that uncertainty, self-doubt and the pressure to get everything right can take hold.
I created Samway Academy to help bridge that gap.
My approach to professional learning is practical, reflective and grounded in the realities of counselling work. Rather than offering more information to memorise, I want to help practitioners develop the confidence, clinical judgement and self-awareness to use what they already know—and recognise where they still need to grow.
I don't believe becoming a good counsellor means having all the answers. It means learning to think critically, remain curious, practise ethically and continue developing throughout your career.
That's the kind of learning experience I'm committed to creating through Samway Academy.
Reflect • Learn • Grow.
Welcome, I'm so glad you're here.
Thank you!
